How to View Your Book Usage and Remaining Allowance
You can easily see how many books you’ve used and how many are left in your current billing period. This helps you stay on top of your plan limits and manage your usage with confidence. Head over to the "My Library" tab. At the top right, you’ll see X of your allocated books used. Your available book allowance depends on your plan or purchase type: Free accounts: 1 book One-time $67 purchase: 15 books total One-time Studio purchase: 5 books total One-time Colorburst purchase: 15 coloring books total Plus plan: 10 books per month Pro plan: 25 books per month Clicking the allocated books dropdown will display your subscription details, including the number of books used in your monthly allocation and when your limit resets. You’ll also see a list of your books, along with details showing which ones are using your monthly allocation and how they’re being applied.
How to Create a New Book From the My Library Tab
You can easily create a new book directly from the My Library tab. This is where you start your story, choose your format, and begin building your book in Scrively. From the "My Library" tab. Click on "New Book. You’ll be redirected to the Dashboard, where you can choose your path and start creating your book.
Create, Save, and Reuse Characters Across Your Books
The Character Library makes it easy to create, organize, and reuse characters across all of your books. With everything stored in one centralized place, you can quickly browse your saved characters, maintain consistency throughout your stories, and bring new ideas to life faster while creating books. Head over to the "My Library" tab. Click on "My Characters." Click on "+ Add a Character." Add your character's name. You can either manually enter the character's description or click “AI Suggest” to let Scrively generate one for you. A character type will be automatically set based on the provided name which can be adjusted. Upload the character's photo. Use the crop image tool to determine what part of the image to focus on. If needed zoom in/out of the image. When you're ready click on "Save." Select who's in the image to help us tailor your experience. Click on "Drawing Style." ⚠️ When you change an uploaded character's style, that style will be preserved when the character is added to a book, even if the book uses a different style. If you want the character to match the book's style, do not modify the character style here. The styles available to you will be based on your plan level. The Starter plan includes one style. One-time purchases include one style in each category. The Plus plan includes three styles per category, while the Pro plan unlocks all styles. Hover over the drawing style to reveal and click on the enlarge tool. Once selected, you’ll see a full-size preview of the drawing style. Click on "Continue." If you only want to change the drawing style of the character click on "Apply Style." If you'd like to customize the character's style and appearance, enable the "Change appearance" option. Add the details for the change you would like Scrively to apply. Click on "Apply." Give Scrively a few moments to process the change. The requested edit will be applied to the character. Not happy with the edit? Click on "Undo." Click on "Save Character" once you're satisfied. Congratulations! Your character has been created. You'll be able to use the character in any of your books which you can learn more about here. Hover over the character image to preview a larger, full-size view of the character. If needed, hover over the character image and click to reveal several options including regenerating a new image. Removing the character image. Uploading a new character image. Or generating a new character image with AI. Need to make changes? Click on "Edit character" at the top right of the character card. Click on the trash icon to "Delete character." Confirm the character deletion.
How to Create Character Folders
Creating character folders helps you keep your character library organized so you can easily group and manage your characters. This makes it simpler to find specific characters, stay organized across multiple stories, and keep your creative workflow structured as your collection grows. Head over to the "My Library" tab. Click on "My Characters." Every account includes a default “All Characters" folder where all of your characters are stored. Click on "+ New Folder." Enter the name of the folder. Click on the checkmark or return/enter on your keyboard to save it. The folder will be created.
How to Add or Remove Characters from Folders
You can easily organize your characters by adding them to folders. This helps keep your character library structured and makes it simple to find and manage characters as your collection grows. Head over to the "My Library" tab. Click on "My Characters." Click on the folder icon on the right side of the character. Select the folder you would like to move the character to. All set! The character will be added to the selected folder. To remove a character from a folder hover over the folder icon on the right. Click on "Remove from folder." The character will be removed from the folder.
How to Rename Character Folders
Renaming character folders helps keep your library organized and up to date. You can update folder names at any time to better align with your books, projects, themes, or workflow, making it easier to manage and locate your characters as your collection grows. Head over to the "My Library" tab. Click on "My Characters." Click into the folder, then open the ellipsis (•••) menu. Select "Rename." Enter the new name for the folder. On your keyboard click on return/enter. The new name will be applied.
How to Delete Character Folders
You can delete a character folder at any time to keep your character library organized and clutter-free. Head over to the "My Library" tab. Click on "My Characters." Click into the folder, then open the ellipsis (•••) menu. Select "Delete." Confirm the deletion. Any characters that are in the folder will be deleted. How to Navigate to the Editor to Edit Your Book
Once your story is generated in the Scrively Web App, you can easily edit and refine every detail. Update your title, change the author name, rewrite sections, or adjust the tone to better match your vision. Head over to the "My Library" tab. Click on "Edit book" at the top right of the book you've like to continue working on. You'll be redirected to the editor where you can continue working on your book.
How to View Book Status and Type in Scrively
Each book in Scrively includes clear status and type indicators so you can easily understand where it is in the creation process and what kind of book it is. Viewing these details helps you quickly track progress and stay organized as you work through your projects. Head over to the "My Library" tab. At the top of the page, you’ll find a list of available book types, including story, coloring, and interactive books for easy sorting. The book type will also be displayed below the title. - Storybook: Books created from scratch. - Interactive: Books that have been edited in Scrively Studio. - Coloring Book: Coloring books created from scratch or converted from a storybook. - Template Story: Books created using a template from the Scrively Library. Next to the book type, you’ll be able to see a timestamp showing when the book was last edited. The status of each book will be displayed on the cover. - Completed: Storybooks that have been fully completed. - Published: Interactive books created in Scrively Studio that have been published. - Draft: Books that are still in progress. Books in draft will show which step of the creation process they are currently in.

Folders make it easy to organize your books and keep your library clean and manageable. You can create folders to group books by theme, project, or any workflow that works best for you. Head over to the "My Library" tab. Every account includes a default “Main” folder where all of your books are stored. Click on "+ New Folder." Enter the name of the folder. Click on the checkmark or return/enter on your keyboard to save it. The folder will be created.
How to Add or Remove Books from Folders
You can easily organize your books by adding them to folders. This helps keep your library structured and easy to navigate. Head over to the "My Library" tab. Click on the folder icon on the right side of the book. Choose the folder to move it to. The book will be moved to the selected folder. Folders containing books will automatically organize them into All, Stories, Coloring, and Interactive for easier navigation.

How to Order a Printed Copy of Your Book
Ready to bring your story to life? In the Scrively web app, ordering a printed copy is simple and seamless. Once your book is finished, you can turn your digital creation into a professionally printed book with just a few clicks. Whether it’s a bedtime story, a family keepsake, or your first publication, printing your book is the final step in the Scrively experience. Click on the "My Library" tab. Click on "Order." Confirm that the correct book has been selected for your order. Adjust the quantity using the + / − buttons. Select your country. Enter your delivery address. Choose your shipping method. Shipping costs will be automatically calculated based on your quantity and location. Click on "Continue to payment." Review and confirm your shipping address. Click “Use This Address” to continue. Ensure your book meets the minimum page requirements before ordering: - Storybooks: minimum 24 pages - Coloring books: minimum 32 pages If your book is below the minimum, blank pages will be added automatically to meet the requirement. Click “Continue” to proceed. Enter your billing details or select a saved payment method. Need to go back and make changes to your delivery details? Clicking on "Shipping" at the top left of the order modal. Click “Pay $XX.XX” to complete your order. After payment, Scrively will prepare your book for printing. How to Download Your Book as a PDF
You can easily download your book as a PDF directly from Scrively. This allows you to save, print, or share your book anytime with just a few clicks. Head over to the "My Library" tab. Click on "Generate and Download PDF." PDF downloads are available on one-time purchases, Plus, and Pro plans. Upgrade anytime to unlock this feature. Scrively will take a few moments to generate the PDF file. The PDF will open in a new window. Click the download icon, then choose where to save the file on your device.
How to Share Your Book Link
You can easily share your book with others using a direct link. This lets you send your book to friends, family, or collaborators so they can view it anytime. Head over to the "My Library" tab. Ensure that the book is set to "Public." Full share links are available on one-time purchases, Plus, and Pro plans. Upgrade anytime to unlock this feature. Click on "Copy." Your readers can access the book once the shared link is opened. Readers can hover over the bottom-left corner to view the characters in your book. On the right side is the option to share the book on Facebook. Click the expand icon in the bottom-right corner to view the book in full screen.
How to Make Your Book Private
You can make your book private at any time in Scrively. This ensures only you can access and view your book, keeping it hidden from readers and shared links. Head over to the "My Library" tab. Toggle the "Public" setting to "Private." Full share links are available on one-time purchases, Plus, and Pro plans. Upgrade anytime to unlock this feature. The book will be set to "Private" and only you can see it. Readers with access to the shared link will see this message.
Finding and Using Your Book Embed Link
Book embed links allow you to display your book directly on a website or platform without requiring readers to leave the page. This makes it easy to share your content in a seamless, interactive format. Head over to the "My Library" tab. Locate your book and select “Embed” from the right-hand menu to access the embed code. Click “Copy Code” to copy the embed code, which you can then use on your website or preferred platform.
