Have a story of your own? Bring it to life with Scrively. Easily create your own story by adding your text, generating beautiful illustrations, and customizing each page to match your vision. When you’re finished, your personalized storybook will be ready to share in both print and digital formats.

From the Dashboard, click on "Create Your Own Story."

Tell Scrively what you’d like your story to be about.

Need a little inspiration? Click on "Generate ideas."

Scrively will generate a few story ideas for you to choose from.

Give the book a title.

Or, click "Generate titles" to let Scrively provide you with story titles.

Choose from the provided titles.

Click on "Change" to select your art style.

Browse through the list of available art styles.

⚠️ The free book includes one style. One-time purchases include one style in each category. The Plus plan includes three styles per category, while the Pro plan unlocks all styles.

Hover over the drawing style to reveal and click on the enlarge tool.

Once selected, you’ll see a full-size preview of the art style.

Click on "Continue."

Click "More options" to reveal additional advanced book settings.

The first option allows you to choose the "Reading Level."

Next, select the number of pages for your book. The maximum number of pages available depends on your plan level.

Then, select the voice or writing style for the story.

Choose the language the story should be written in.

Select your spread layout, with two options available: One per page or One per spread.

One per page: Displays one image on each page, allowing two images to appear across a spread. This is ideal for showing contrasting scenes, before-and-after moments, or two related perspectives side by side.

One per spread: Displays one image across the entire spread, creating a larger, full-focus illustration or scene that spans both pages.

⚠️ Once your book has been designed, the spread layout can no longer be changed. If you return to the "more options", you’ll notice that the Spread layout setting is locked.

Next choose your "Book Size." The book sizes that are available are based on your plan level which you can learn more about here.

Choose your text placement.

Smart Fit: The story text will no longer be anchored to the bottom of the page. Instead, it will be automatically resized and positioned in the most suitable location for each illustration.

Always at the bottom: The story text will remain in the same position on every page.

Choose how many sentences should show on each page.

Click “Choose the Cast” at the bottom.

A confirmation will be shown indicating that this book will use one of your plans credits. Click on "Continue" to proceed.
