Edit Text in the Designer View

Modified on Sat, Aug 9 at 1:41 PM

Scrively’s Designer view gives you the freedom to truly make your story your own. Whether you’re polishing the wording, correcting typos, adjusting formatting, or adding a personal touch to each page, the "Designer" view makes it easy to shape your book exactly how you imagined it.

In the "Designer" view, click on the text block you want to edit. The text block will be highlighted.

A quick action menu will appear at the top of the canvas, allowing you to customize your text. From there, you can change the font, adjust the size, line height, and letter spacing, apply bold, italic, or underline styles, update the text color, change the alignment, and add an outline.

You can apply formatting to an entire text block or selectively highlight specific words to style them individually.

For quicker editing, use these handy keyboard shortcuts:

  • Bold: Cmd/Ctrl + B
  • Italic: Cmd/Ctrl + I
  • Underline: Cmd/Ctrl + U

When working with the text block after making adjustments click on "Save."

If you click outside of the text block while editing, a "Save Progress" modal will appear, prompting you to either "Discard" or "Discard" your changes.

In the quick action menu, if you’d like to apply the style from your current page to all pages, click the “Apply to Global Style” option.

If you’d like to reset the page settings to their default, click the Reset icon at the top right. This will only affect the current text block you’re working on.
