From Crayon to Storybook: How to Turn Your Child’s Drawing into a Story

Modified on Tue, Dec 23 at 10:58 PM

Every child’s drawing tells a story, so why not make it an actual story? With Scrively, you can take your child’s crayon masterpiece and use it to create a beautifully illustrated book. Their imagination leads the way, and the result is something you’ll both treasure forever.

From the Homepage, click on “Kid’s Drawing → Story.”

Select the drawing from your device.

Scrively will then take a few seconds to process the drawing.

The storyblock will update with a title, the story details pulled from the reference image, and the characters’ information.

Where applicable, click into a character’s name field to add their name. Once entered, it will automatically populate any other fields that require the same character.

Click on "Create a book." Head over to our guide here to learn more about building your story.
