Publishing Your Book as a PDF – For Print

Modified on Wed, Jul 16 at 4:45 PM

Ready to hold your story in your hands? The PDF - For Print format is designed with high-resolution and print-ready specifications, perfect for professional printing or home use. It’s the ideal choice when you’re creating a keepsake, gift, or a physical product to sell.

In the “Publish” tab on the left-hand side, start by reviewing and confirming your book’s title.

Next, confirm the author's details.

Select the DPI.

In the bottom left corner, you’ll find your book’s details, including the total number of pages, word count, and illustrations.

Once everything looks good, click on “Export or Print” to finalize your book.

For physical copies of your books, export your project in a print-ready PDF format. Each printed copy requires one credit, which you can learn more about here. Your first hardcover copy is included with your Scrively purchase.

When you're ready to order physical copies click on "Export Book."

Please note that books must be at least 25 pages long to be eligible for print orders.

Scrively prepares your book for printing ensuring your images and layout are optimized for professional results. This process may take a few minutes depending on the number of pages and images.

Scrively will then move to the "Generating PDF" stage.

A preview will be shown prior to confirming the order.

Click on "Confirm Order."

The book's order details will be shown.

Confirm the number of books you’d like to order. Remember, you’re entitled to one free hard copy. Additional copies will require the purchase and use of extra credits which you can learn more about in our guide here.

If needed click on "Save as default for next orders" to save and use the entered shipping details for your next orders.

Click on "Order Book." An email confirmation will be sent after placing the book order. When you're ready head over to our guide here to complete and manage your orders in Scrively.

If you switch back to the "Story Builder" view while working in the "Publish" view, a pop-up will appear to warn you that any changes to characters or settings will generate a new story and reset your styles and images.
